Our amazing volunteers

Mr. Alverso ‘Peanut’ Knight
Volunteer

Alverso ‘Peanut’ Knight, volunteers at most of SEA’s events and programs, including the Summer Lunch Program, where he assists as one of the coordinators; he is very handy with the various social media applications, and is an invaluable asset with scheduling, word processing, signing up and posting on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and other digital duties.

Mrs. Karen Taylor
Volunteer

Karen Taylor, land planner, has worked with us from the beginning, helping with the community center, filling all our paperwork, working with the architect, contractors, engineers, state, and county permits, zoning, site work and much more. She also helps in transferring the lots from the county with no pay, many hours of hard work and still working.

Mrs. Mary Kellough
Volunteer
Mary Kellough and her husband Larry moved from Connecticut to St. Augustine in 1998. After his passing in 2008, she joined the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of St. Augustine and discovered the fun in volunteering with S.E.A., St. Johns Ecumenical Food Pantry and Dining With Dignity. She enjoys hiking and kayaking.
Mrs. Mary Lawrence
Volunteer

I met the women of Armstrong in 2008 when we were supporting their monthly migrant dinners. I was immediately impressed with the determination and strength of these remarkable women in providing services to their community on a literal shoestring budget. Eventually I was invited to be an advisor to their Board of Directors as we got our non profit determination in 2013.
Since then, SEA Community has done nothing but grow! We’ve got allies in the community and relationships with county government. It’s been a long time and a lot of work but it’s been one of the greatest honors of my life to learn from and work alongside these women I am proud to call my friends.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Our Past Officers

Gone but never forgotten...

Alexia "Alexis" Williams-Bibbs
Secretary

Our beloved friend, Alexia “Alexis” Williams- Bibbs, was a faithful volunteer of  SEA Community. She helped in so many  capacities; some of the work she did was working with our youth, worked on the social media team, and she held office as our secretary. Her love to work and help people in need was like no other. She was a firm believer of getting our youth involved, she faithfully brought her sister and  children  alone with her to help. She trained them to take pride in our community  and to help people that are in need. Her favorite quote was “If i could help someone passing along on this journey”. You will be missed dearly Ms. Bibbs.

Lillian Newsome Bryson
Treasurer

Our friend, Lillian Newsome Bryson, has been an enthusiastic, and genuinely faithful friend and worker with SEA for many years, even before we were known as SEA. Her willing attitude and knowledge of our history will be missed by everyone with whom she came into contact. Lillian’s office with SEA was as Treasurer; however, she worked in all capacities, wherever there was a need. There is not other person who can replace her incomparable spirit.
